About the position

The Manager Software Engineering 2 - Systems Integration and Automation Lead position at Northrop Grumman involves leading a team of software engineers in the automation, integration, testing, and tracking of Weapon System software for the Sentinel program. The role requires collaboration with various teams, oversight of software development processes, and management of personnel, including recruitment and performance evaluations. This position combines functional management responsibilities with program-specific duties, emphasizing the importance of leadership and technical expertise in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers, providing guidance and assigning work for automation, integration, testing, and tracking of Weapon System software.
  • Develop requirement verification tests using NG developed framework.
  • Perform certification risk reduction through incremental deliveries of software, executables, dependencies, and CDRLS.
  • Review Software Assurance and static analysis scans with stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to software coding standards.
  • Collaborate on system-level CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assess staffing needs and work with team leads to address them.
  • Support recruitment activities including creating requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
  • Establish personal program and functional goals with program software manager and technical leads.
  • Perform performance evaluations and merit adjustments for subordinates.
  • Provide career development recommendations and mentoring to team members.
  • Communicate company and organizational status to the team and represent the Software Engineering organization.

Requirements

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or 4 years with a Master's degree, or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Minimum 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple teams and organizations.

  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.

  • Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and execute those plans.
  • Experience leading Software Engineering teams.
