About the position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, Utah. This role involves analyzing requirements, translating user needs into testable system requirements, and mentoring junior engineers. The position requires innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex technical challenges, contributing to the development of advanced technological ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements and coordinate results with AVE HWIL stakeholders to ensure lifecycle functions and needs are captured.
  • Evaluate and translate user needs into testable system functional, performance, and interface requirements.
  • Define architecture and allocate system-level requirements to test sets and interfaces.
  • Perform Trade Studies for Make/Buy decisions as required.
  • Mentor junior engineers on the team.
  • Work on complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into final products.
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and advise management and customers.

Requirements

  • 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree in STEM; 10 years with a Master's; 8 years with a PhD.
  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years).
  • LabVIEW development experience.
  • Ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Experience in reading hardware schematics and designing test sets.
  • Experience in developing telemetry systems for aerospace applications.
  • Experience in translating requirements into design.

Nice-to-haves

  • US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years).
  • Experience in embedded software development using C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Products including Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
  • Experience with AFI 91-101 and AFMAN 91-118, 91-119.
