About the position

In addition to product descriptions, the SEO Content Editor will contribute weekly articles to brand blogs, utilizing SEO strategies to enhance visibility and engagement. Collaboration with the digital team is essential to push accurate copy live and keep it updated based on customer feedback and market trends. The editor will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all key product elements and marketing points are effectively represented in the product descriptions. The position demands adherence to production schedules and deadlines, requiring strong time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively. The editor will attend sample summits and style outs to capture all necessary product details, manage the copy schedule, and coordinate with merchants and design teams to highlight key features and benefits. A solid understanding of SEO guidelines is crucial for optimizing organic content for maximum ranking, and the editor will partner with digital site and marketing teams to report on SEO performance and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Write all online product copy including naming products and writing descriptions.
  • Track Merchant changes and load copy onto the web development server if applicable.
  • Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, formatting, clarity, accuracy of detail, and consistency of style.
  • Contribute weekly articles to brand blogs utilizing SEO best practices.
  • Work with the digital team to push accurate copy live and keep it updated based on customer feedback and trends.
  • Assist and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure all key product elements and marketing points are represented in product descriptions.
  • Adhere to production schedule deadlines and be aware of the release schedule.
  • Attend sample summits and style outs to ensure all product details are captured in copy.
  • Manage copy schedule and copy summits with merchants and design to establish key features & benefits.
  • Understand SEO guidelines to optimize all organic content for maximum ranking.
  • Partner with digital site and marketing teams to report back on SEO performance.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required; in Communications, English, or Marketing preferred.
  • 3+ years working with online content, product copy, editing, and SEO writing.
  • MAC proficiency including Adobe Suites and Microsoft Office; ability to adapt to content management systems.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong time management, interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Understanding of fashion, fit, fabrication, and trends.
  • Strong command of grammar and sentence construction with the ability to self-edit and proof.
  • Ability to quickly change gears and tasks while staying organized and meeting deadlines.
  • Positive team player with experience in product copy, writing, and editing web content.
