About the position

The SEO Manager will be a key member of the SEO & Content Marketing Team at Parts Town, responsible for leading the technical search engine optimization strategy. This role requires staying up to date on the latest algorithm requirements and best practices for organic search. As a vital link between the Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Teams, the SEO Manager will collaborate regularly with content specialists, ecommerce product owners, and web developers to enhance website performance and drive organic traffic. The position involves consistently monitoring organic search performance, researching and identifying technical optimizations, and providing recommendations to improve performance and meet Parts Town's SEO and digital goals. A typical day for the SEO Manager includes conducting routine crawls and audits to identify technical issues or on-page gaps, collaborating with the SEO analyst, content specialists, product owners, and developers to implement critical changes or run tests. The SEO Manager will work closely with product owners and developers to optimize the site's structure, increase crawl budget, improve page speed, leverage caching, enhance XML sitemaps, and resolve issues that might affect search engine bots from accessing and understanding the content. Additionally, the role involves conducting research and analysis of competitor websites and other ecommerce and content sites to identify keyword, content, and user experience gaps on Parts Town properties. The SEO Manager will also collaborate with the SEO Content team on content-related and on-page optimization projects, ensuring the effectiveness of the scope and establishing or confirming SEO best practices. Regular tracking of SEO data and organic search metrics, analyzing site trends and fluctuations, and monitoring website and page speeds are essential responsibilities. The SEO Manager will effectively report and communicate core SEO metrics and KPIs across teams and business stakeholders, adhering to agile principles and participating in routine sprint planning, reviews, scrums, and releases.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product owners and developers to optimize the site's structure, increase crawl budget, improve page speed, leverage caching, enhance XML sitemaps, and resolve issues affecting search engine bots
  • Conduct research and analysis of competitor websites and other ecommerce and content sites to identify keyword, content, and user experience gaps
  • Collaborate with the SEO Content team on content-related and on-page optimization projects, ensuring effectiveness and establishing SEO best practices
  • Regularly track SEO data and organic search metrics, analyze site trends and fluctuations, and monitor website and page speeds
  • Effectively report and communicate core SEO metrics and KPIs across teams and business stakeholders
  • Adhere to agile principles and participate in routine sprint planning, reviews, scrums, and releases

Requirements

  • 4+ years relevant experience as an SEO manager, SEO analyst, or a similar technical and digital marketing role
  • Experience with various technical SEO tools for crawls, auditing, speed testing, and schema markup
  • Strong knowledge of search engine optimization and working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and server responses
  • Passion for digital marketing and staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in technical and on-page SEO
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics (Google Data Studio a plus!) or similar web analytics and reporting tools, such as Adobe Analytics, Hubspot, etc.
  • Proficiency with SEO reporting and auditing tools, such as Google Search Console, BrightEdge, Botify, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, etc.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to think on your feet and manage multiple campaigns with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with close attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; previous experience managing people is a plus
