About the position

The SEO Manager will be responsible for driving all aspects of SEO for GFL Environmental, focusing on content marketing, off-page link building, and technical SEO. This role involves collaboration with content and design teams to support the Digital Marketing Director's strategic goals, optimizing the organic performance of the company's websites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, implement, and manage end-to-end SEO projects that align with the strategic direction provided by the Digital Marketing Director.
  • Create and optimize keyword-rich web pages for GFL Environmental's websites.
  • Oversee all website updates to ensure optimal performance and alignment with SEO best practices.
  • Conduct thorough keyword research to align content with business goals.
  • Manage off-page listings, including Google Business, Apple Maps, and Bing Places, to improve digital visibility.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings via Microsoft Teams or in person as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders across departments, serving as the face of digital marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing, with a strong focus on Technical SEO, content marketing, or link building.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership through effective communication, mentorship, and strong analytical and collaboration skills to solve SEO challenges.
  • Proficient with SEO tools, including Ahrefs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, and Google Data Studio.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Technical SEO.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and content management systems.
  • Experience within enterprise-level companies is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a managerial or team leadership role is preferred.
