About the position

As an SEO Manager at 85SIXTY, you will be responsible for driving the growth and performance of clients' SEO programs. This role involves strategic leadership, tactical execution, and client communication, ensuring that data-driven insights guide decision-making. You will mentor a team of SEO specialists and foster a culture of high performance and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the growth of clients' SEO programs through detailed audits, strategies, and execution of proven SEO tactics.
  • Serve as the strategic lead for clients, guiding them toward their goals with a balance of data-driven decision-making, creativity, and innovative SEO approaches.
  • Monitor SEO trends and marketplace shifts, translating these into actionable insights to continuously refine client strategies.
  • Develop robust link-building strategies and manage relationships with outsourced vendors to execute these initiatives effectively.
  • Provide technical SEO guidance, ensuring all plans take into account platform specific nuances (e.g., Magento, Shopify, CMS).
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks based on client needs and ensuring timely delivery of SEO initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust project plans for each client, ensuring all SEO initiatives are delivered on time and align with client objectives.
  • Develop high quality, well structured deliverables and presentations that clearly communicate SEO strategies, performance, and opportunities to clients and internal teams.
  • Identify key program KPIs, and deliver clear, insightful reports on SEO performance, progress, and opportunities for improvement across client programs.
  • Leverage SEO tools such as Moz, ScreamingFrog, SEMRush, ClearScope and others to perform in-depth analysis and ensure optimization across all programs.
  • Regularly engage with clients, effectively communicating SEO strategies, progress, and results.
  • Provide SEO insights and strategies to support business development efforts, helping to expand existing client relationships and win new business.
  • Regularly communicate with Senior Marketing Directors and other key stakeholders, managing expectations and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including Strategy, UX, Design, Analytics, Media, and Technology, to ensure SEO is integrated into broader marketing efforts.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment, supporting colleagues and maintaining a culture of mutual respect and open communication.
  • Offer critical thinking and strategic recommendations during cross functional client meetings, ensuring SEO is positioned as a key driver of success.
  • Contribute to the agency's collective knowledge base, staying at the forefront of SEO trends and educating others on complementary channels.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years within a digital agency environment.
  • Experienced in driving SEO programs across different stages, from early stage brands to established enterprise level clients.
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce SEO strategies.
  • Experience across various platforms like Magento, Shopify, and WordPress.
  • Proven ability to explain complex SEO strategies in simple terms, supported by data.
  • Familiarity with enterprise SEO tools (e.g., Moz, SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, ClearScope).
  • Experience with Google Analytics for data extraction and performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
