About the position

The SEO Manager at Squarespace will play a crucial role in driving organic growth and enhancing the company's share of search volume. This position involves developing and implementing SEO strategies, collaborating with various teams, and managing external partners to optimize the marketing funnel. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SEO, content strategy, and a strong understanding of search algorithms, with a focus on balancing search volume and conversion rates.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with marketing stakeholders, analytics, content, agency partners, product, and leadership to develop global SEO strategies through data-driven planning, opportunity assessment, and reporting.
  • Manage an extended team of external agency and vendor partners to systematize processes and increase organic channel efficiency across the marketing funnel.
  • Develop short-term and long-term SEO strategies, including keyword list management, site architecture, and content optimization recommendations.
  • Plan for SGE and analyze how traffic results will shift as a result of the evolution of AI search.
  • Collaborate with marketing, content, analytics, and product teams to integrate SEO recommendations into marketing project planning.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, algorithm changes, and SEO best practices.
  • Report on plan results, insights, and recommendations weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
  • Balance well-curated content with intentional SEO practices.
  • Contribute to creative ideas that support customer understanding of website design.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in SEO and content strategy required.
  • 4 years of experience defining marketing processes in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Knowledge of channel marketing strategies and processes to support SEO programs.
  • Up to date on the latest trends in SEO best practices, Google quality guidelines, and ranking factors.
  • Expert with tools like Looker, Amplitude, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Framer, etc.
  • Deep understanding of marketing data management to support SEO channel reporting.
  • Experience with both self-service B2C and B2B motions.
  • Experience presenting to executive audiences.
  • Ability to partner and gain support from content, engineering, design, product, and marketing teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SaaS and website, scheduling, or domains products is a bonus.
