About the position
The SEO Specialist at Global Industrial will be responsible for managing the performance of the company's website and implementing SEO strategies to enhance visibility and search engine ranking. This role involves technical SEO requirements, site audits, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to optimize web content and structure.
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of web site performance & applicable automation of SEO tagging
- Work with product & engineering to define technical SEO requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve crawling & indexation
- Support for page remapping & URL structural updates
- Bi-weekly site audits and reporting, with recommendations and roadmap scheduling
- Support SEO departmental lead Report building & automation
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience in an SEO role
- 1+ year experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- A passion for deep analysis of web technologies & SEO
- A strong understanding of search engine crawlers
- Familiarity with BrightEdge, Google Adwords, SEMRush, and Quantum Metrics
- Experience with canonicalization, client & server-side redirects, pagination, crawl budget, XML sitemaps
- Technical auditing experience on large web sites, both static and dynamic
- Ability to recognize common technical issues and explain their solutions coherently
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues on sites with tens of thousands to over 1 million pages
- Ability to research technical issues and make actionable and well-informed recommendations
- Comfortable retrieving and analyzing data from Google and Bing Webmaster Tools
- A solid grasp of how blogging, press releases, social media, and related strategies go hand-in-hand with SEO
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup function, and conditional functions)
- Familiarity with log file analysis
- A deep understanding of mobile strategy and how it relates to SEO
- Structured markup understanding
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
