About the position

As an SEO Specialist at Skechers, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence and driving organic traffic to our e-commerce platform. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of proven experience in SEO or a similar role, where you will apply your strong understanding of foundational SEO best practices. You will be responsible for implementing strategies that include SEO-friendly site architecture, managing meta tags, handling robots.txt, and managing redirects. Your analytical skills will be essential as you proactively assess SEO performance, identify issues, and uncover opportunities for improvement. In this role, you will focus on a wide range of SEO efforts, including conducting thorough keyword research to identify high-value keywords, optimizing internal links, and making technical improvements to our website. You will collaborate closely with the content team to create content briefs that align with our SEO strategy. Additionally, you will support technical SEO initiatives through JIRA ticket creation and grooming, ensuring that all technical aspects of SEO are addressed efficiently. You will also be expected to learn and demonstrate expertise with our e-commerce platform, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, to support catalog structure and growth, manage data entry, and implement metadata effectively. Monitoring our suite of SEO tools, such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics, will be part of your daily responsibilities, as will performing competitive research to analyze the strategies of our competitors. Staying up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, including structured data and core web vitals, will be vital to your success in this position. Creating Standard Operating Procedures to document current and new processes will be part of your duties, as well as collaborating with other teams to ensure that our SEO strategies align with overall marketing goals. You will coordinate with team members for meetings, set agendas, and assist the SEO Manager in scaling and communicating the US SEO strategy to international team members and agency partners.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of proven experience as an SEO Specialist or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of foundational SEO best practices such as SEO-friendly site architecture, meta tags, robots.txt, and managing redirects.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess SEO performance and identify issues and opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to break down complex SEO tasks into manageable steps.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Search Console.
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, particularly Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Familiarity with structured data and A.I. as it relates to SEO.
