About the position

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is seeking a dedicated Server Assistant who embodies a passion for excellence and enthusiasm in their work. This role is pivotal in shaping the guest experience, as Server Assistants are responsible for providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in every interaction. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and ensuring that guests feel welcomed and valued throughout their dining experience. As a Server Assistant, you will utilize non-verbal cues to efficiently clear finished plates and glassware from tables, ensuring that the dining area remains tidy and inviting. You will also be responsible for marking tables with the necessary silverware between courses and inquiring about guests' water preferences, ensuring that water glasses are consistently filled to the Four Seasons standard. Additionally, you will provide bread service and maintain inventory through effective communication with the Chef responsible for ordering products. Your role will involve stocking linen, china, silver, and glassware for service, ensuring that all items are polished and in good condition before and after service each day. Greeting guests in a professional manner, serving beverages and food items while explaining their contents, and anticipating guests' needs before they make requests are essential aspects of this position. You will also assist with the preparation of condiment and garnish items, retrieve food from the kitchen using a tray, and safely transport it to guests, as well as remove items from their tables. The Server Assistant will be involved in the breakdown, cleaning, and setup of tables, buffets, and food stations, contributing to a seamless dining experience for all guests. This role is not only about serving food but also about creating memorable experiences that align with the Four Seasons' commitment to luxury and genuine hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize non-verbal cues to clear finished plates and glassware from tables.
  • Mark tables with necessary silverware between courses.
  • Inquire on water preference and ensure water glasses are consistently at least 50% full.
  • Provide bread service and maintain inventory of bread through communication with the Chef.
  • Stock linen, china, silver, and glassware for service, ensuring all are polished and in good condition.
  • Greet guests in a professional manner and serve beverages and food items while explaining their contents.
  • Anticipate and service the guest's needs before requests are necessary.
  • Prepare condiment and garnish items as needed.
  • Assist with guest service by retrieving food from the kitchen and safely transporting it to guests.
  • Remove items from the guest's table as necessary.
  • Breakdown, clean, and set up tables, buffets, and food stations.

Requirements

  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculosis (TB) clearance card when working in food and beverage.
  • Three to twelve months of restaurant, food and beverage, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States.
  • Weekend and Holiday availability required.
