About the position
The Bartender & Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences at the restaurant. This position involves greeting guests, taking and serving food and beverage orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout their visit. The Bartender & Server is expected to engage with customers, maintain cleanliness, and assist in various restaurant operations while adhering to company policies and health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and take food and drink orders accurately.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner and ensure their satisfaction.
- Collect payments and prepare checks that itemize meal costs and sales taxes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned service areas.
- Monitor and follow federal and state laws related to the sale of alcohol.
- Assist food preparation staff when necessary.
- Complete opening and closing duties as designated by established procedures.
- Upsell restaurant menu items and work additional shifts as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of service industry experience required.
- Serve Safe Food Handler Certification required.
- Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate a cash register, credit card machine, and POS system accurately.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in sales and upselling restaurant menu items.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
