About the position

We are seeking a motivated and friendly Server/Cashier to join our team at DJ's Clam Shack. This part-time, seasonal position involves providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling food orders and transactions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and take their food and beverage orders accurately.
• Operate the cash register to process payments, including cash, credit, and debit transactions.
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
• Prepare food containers to help cooks plate the food.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
• Assist in bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the food service environment.
• Put up chairs, take out trash, sweep, mop to close.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in the food industry is required.
• Experience in food preparation and handling within the food industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating a cash register and handling financial transactions accurately.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and satisfaction.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a grocery store or quick service fast food restaurant is a plus.
• Ability to relocate to Indian Shores, FL before starting work (preferred).
