About the position
The Server/Cocktail Waitress position at Moxy St. Petersburg involves providing exceptional service in an upscale rooftop lounge environment. The role focuses on delivering food and beverages while ensuring a memorable experience for guests, embodying the brand's stylish and playful essence. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent service to Sparrow guests, including cocktails, food, and bottle service.
- Personify the brand pillars: stylish, playful, chic, and a little edgy.
- Consistently adhere to all company service and operating standards.
- Handle customer complaints and solicit support from supervisors when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company events and promotions to answer customer questions.
- Follow established company and departmental appearance standards, including uniform and hygiene guidelines.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Make specific recommendations that guests will enjoy.
- Open wine bottles with ease and confidence while communicating with guests.
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
- Perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignment.
- Complete opening and closing checklists.
- Maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas.
- Monitor and observe guests' dining experience.
- Prepare final bills, present checks to guests, accept payments, and process through the POS system.
- Assist fellow cocktail servers as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Over 1 year of related experience in a chic upscale lounge.
- Understanding of liquor tiers, top-shelf liquors, and bottle service is required.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
- Excellent communication and hosting skills.
- Excellent teamwork required.
- Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
