About the position
The Server position at Olivia Cocktail & Oyster Bar involves providing exceptional service to guests in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The role requires a warm and welcoming demeanor, along with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively. Servers will be responsible for maintaining their workstations, ensuring cleanliness, and delivering a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Acknowledge and greet every guest table in a timely fashion
- Deliver exceptional, personalized service to every guest
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in an effective manner, retaining customer satisfaction
- Prep, stock and maintain work station and assigned seating section according to company specifications while adhering to health department regulations
- Process and expedite payment with accuracy and efficiency
- Educate guests on origins, preparation and presentation of the products offered
- Guide guests through the menus and dining experience
- Be mindful of kitchen and restaurant flow
- Accommodate guests with special needs, including allergy and dietary restrictions
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the facility and equipment; perform opening and closing duties assigned
- Pace each course and keep lines of communication open with your table/chef/bartender/management
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly
Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old
- Must have ABC Card
- 1-2+ years of full-service restaurant service experience preferred, including experience with various POS systems
- Basic math skills
- Availability to work evenings, brunch and weekend shifts
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and promotional sales abilities
- Professional, friendly, positive, punctual, teamwork oriented, energetic, organized, thorough and teachable
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to stand on your feet for 6+ hours
- Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
- Ability to lift 35+ pounds
- Must adhere to training of all policies, manuals and procedures
- Proficient in the English language
- Basic knowledge of food, beer, wine and spirits preferred
- Ability to comply with health department regulations
- Ability to take direction from management
