About the position
The Server position at Essex Meadows is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional hospitality and service to residents and their guests in a senior living community. The role involves hands-on serving functions, maintaining high customer service standards, and ensuring cleanliness and organization in the dining area. This position is integral to enhancing the dining experience for residents, contributing to a positive and engaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests.
- Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
- Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
- Learn the department's steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager.
- Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
- Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
- Assist with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
- Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.
