About the position

The Server position at Essex Meadows is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional hospitality and service to residents and their guests in a senior living community. This position involves hands-on serving functions, ensuring a high level of customer service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests.
• Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
• Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
• Learn the department's steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager.
• Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
• Assist with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
• Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train.
• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.
