About the position

The Server position at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport involves greeting and serving guests according to established standards, ensuring a positive dining experience. The role requires prompt service, effective communication with guests, and adherence to safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Take and serve guest orders promptly and according to service manual.
• Do all necessary set-up sidework as assigned.
• Answer any guest questions about the menu.
• Operate the electronic cash register/P.O.S. system (where applicable).
• Check food before serving it to guests to ascertain that appearance, temperature, and portions are correct.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate well with guests.
• Willingness to assist co-workers and be a team player.
• Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
