About the position

The Server (PM) position at The Darcy involves providing exceptional guest service in a vibrant restaurant environment. As a Server, you will be the first point of contact for guests, greeting them warmly and ensuring they feel welcomed throughout their dining experience. Your responsibilities will include taking drink and food orders, processing these orders efficiently, and serving them while accommodating any special requests or needs from guests. It is essential to remain attentive to guests, adhering to or exceeding the service standards established by the restaurant at all times. You will also be responsible for completing all restocking and cleaning duties, performing opening and closing tasks as instructed, and maintaining cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service area to ensure a presentable and attractive facility that meets health and safety requirements. In addition to service duties, you will need to memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to effectively answer questions and make recommendations to guests. Your role will also involve promoting hotel amenities and services, ensuring guest satisfaction by responding to inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude, and resolving any guest questions, issues, or complaints with the assistance of a supervisor when necessary. Maintaining a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor is crucial, as is presenting a clean and professional appearance at all times. You will also be responsible for financial transactions, which include controlling allocated guest checks, posting food and drink charges, computing final guest checks, and handling various payment methods while ensuring the security of guest payment information. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and make all guests feel welcomed to the restaurant.
  • Take drink and food orders, process orders in a timely manner, serve orders and accommodate special needs/requests.
  • Remain attentive to guests throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the restaurant at all times.
  • Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing as instructed.
  • Memorize menu items, recipes and daily specials in order to answer questions and make recommendations.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, wait station and kitchen service area in order to have a clean, presentable and attractive facility and to satisfy health and safety requirements.
  • Attend team briefings.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude.
  • Promote hotel amenities and services to guests using personal knowledge and effective selling techniques.
  • Welcome and effectively resolve guest questions, issues and complaints with supervisor assistance as needed.
  • Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
  • Control allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as guest orders are taken and processed.
  • Post food and drink charges and compute final guest check.
  • Handle cash, credit card, currency conversions and other financial transactions.
  • Receive proper payment from guest and ensure accuracy of guest check and method of payment.
  • Ensure the security of guest payment information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
