About the position

The Server position at Maggiano's Little Italy involves taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests in a restaurant setting. Responsibilities

• Effectively service a 6 table station
• Accurately account for and balance all sales and receipts
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen both verbally and utilizing the computer register system
• Present and encourage current promotional information and materials to guests
• Accurately account for all guest checks issued
• Accurately record and account for all items ordered and served
• Accurately accept payment from guests
• Notify guests of any automatic gratuity
• Perform calmly under pressure, handling multiple tasks simultaneously
• Communicate with guests clearly, patiently, and courteously
• Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of service according to standing operating procedure

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years full-service restaurant experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of menu and specials
• Familiarity with wine list, liquor list, and special drinks
• Understanding of accounting procedures
• Knowledge of restaurant layout including table numbers and station numbers
• Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
• Courteous, pleasant, and good-natured demeanor
• Ability to respond to the needs of difficult guests with patience and courtesy
• Ability to accept constructive criticism
• Ability to get along with co-workers
• Maintain a clean, well-manicured persona that reflects the established image of the restaurant
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
• Ability to safely transport food from kitchen to guest table over slick, uneven surfaces
• Ability to transport food to service a party of 4 in a single trip
• Ability to continually transport food and beverage items from source to any guest table throughout a shift
• Ability to safely move about in all areas of the restaurant
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
