About the position

The Server Systems Manager/Cyber Security Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the organization's server and IT infrastructure. This position is essential for ensuring that the IT infrastructure is available, reliable, secure, optimized, and stable. The role requires a deep understanding of server systems and cybersecurity, along with strong problem-solving skills. As part of a small team, the duties may overlap with junior levels, providing a collaborative environment for professional growth and development. In this position, the individual will be responsible for building, managing, and maintaining critical services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Print Services, Office 365 Tenant, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Azure administration. The Server Systems Manager/Cyber Security Analyst will serve as the main point of contact for server-related issues, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and securely. The role involves deploying and testing Windows server operating systems, including managing virus updates, patches, and performance tuning. The individual will also install, configure, and support both physical and virtual Windows-based servers, implement and oversee backup and recovery processes, and maintain data integrity in district servers. Additionally, the analyst will develop and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring that all technical information is readily available for reference. The position also includes designing and managing technology training for teachers and staff, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the use of available technology, and establishing processes to monitor and inform staff about evolving technologies. The Server Systems Manager/Cyber Security Analyst will coordinate with the Technology Services Supervisor to design technology infrastructure for construction projects and resolve complex problems as they arise. Overall, this role is vital for providing security, support, and maintenance for all IT systems while assisting employees with technology-related issues and requests.

Responsibilities

  • Builds, manages, and maintains Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Print Services, Office 365 Tenant, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Azure administration, and overall cloud/on-premise server infrastructure.
  • Serves as the main point of contact and escalation for Server-related issues.
  • Deploys and tests Windows server operating systems, including virus updates, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Installs, configures and supports Windows-based physical and virtual servers.
  • Implements and oversees backup and recovery processes.
  • Builds, maintains, and supports IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Administers and provides support for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, Google Workspace, Office 365, Adobe, and Single Sign-On.
  • Answers telephone, provides immediate technical assistance if possible, refers calls to appropriate persons or creates a work order request for additional on-site support.
  • Provides a broad range of third tier support for escalated issues.
  • Performs software distribution and management to Windows devices.
  • Maintains data in district servers as required, including file sharing and electronic mail systems.
  • Develops and maintains detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Designs and manages technology training as required for teachers and staff.
  • Remains technically current and up to date by attending training meetings, pursuing certifications, and participating in conferences and seminars.
  • Collaborates with Technology Services, Principals, and Technology Mentor Teachers on available technology and its use.
  • Establishes a process to monitor and inform staff of evolving technologies and their implications.
  • Coordinates with the Technology Services Supervisor to design technology infrastructure for construction projects.
  • Works with the Technology Services Supervisor to resolve difficult problems.
  • Provides security, support, and maintenance for all IT systems and assists employees with technology-related issues and requests.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of server systems and cybersecurity.

  • Proficiency in deploying and testing Windows server operating systems.
