About the position
The Server/Waitstaff position at Elliotts On Linden involves providing exceptional dining experiences for guests through attentive service and extensive menu knowledge. Servers are responsible for ensuring guests feel welcome and comfortable while efficiently managing their needs during their dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up restaurant using the provided checklist
- Demonstrate extensive menu knowledge and pass the menu test
- Show extensive bar knowledge and pass the bar test
- Know tables and seat numbers, passing the floor chart test
- Understand and follow the steps of service as provided
- Use the POS system accurately
- Guide guests through the menu and assist in making drink and dinner choices
- Properly bus and reset tables
- Provide water service, offering different types of water
- Serve biscuits to guests
- Communicate 86'd items to all staff and keep the board updated
- Complete running side work during the shift
- Keep track of ticket times for tables and alert kitchen/management for longer times
- Clear tables as needed and reset for each course
- Maintain polishing during service
- Run food when needed
- Abide by the firing system
- Ensure all guests in the restaurant are treated as your guests
- Handle all guest requests
- Close using the provided checklist
Requirements
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Ability to multitask efficiently
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience as a Server, fine dining experience is a plus
