About the position

The Server at Harmony at Victory Station is responsible for providing courteous meal service to residents and guests, ensuring a clean and organized dining environment. This role involves understanding dining room procedures, assisting residents with menu selections, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and service throughout the dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests courteously.
• Clean and reset the dining room after meal service.
• Maintain knowledge of dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment such as food processors and dishwashers.
• Ensure a clean work area in the kitchen and dining room.
• Set tables properly for each meal.
• Assist residents with menu orders and provide beverage service.
• Refill condiments before and after meals.
• Report broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor.
• Understand and apply proper serving techniques.
• Assist with food preparation for salads and desserts.
• Follow proper food storage and labeling techniques.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining areas.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Complete all other assigned duties.
• Be attentive to the special needs of residents, including mobility and memory impairments.
• Assist with tray service.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Interact politely and considerately with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must wear a clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Quick learner with the ability to apply learned principles.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work under close supervision.
• Physical ability to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
• Organized and willing to work well with team members.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
