About the position

The Service Advisor plays a crucial role in advocating for customers and enhancing their experience during the repair process. This position requires effective communication, empathy, and the ability to manage customer expectations while ensuring a smooth workflow in the service department.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with all business contacts
• Maintains a professional appearance and safe working habits
• Interviews customers to gather information about repairs needed
• Identifies and communicates payment responsibilities to customers
• Opens repair orders with complete documentation
• Completes and communicates repair estimates to customers and obtains approvals
• Updates customers on repair status as promised or at least twice daily
• Ensures clarity in documenting complaints, causes, and corrections on repair orders
• Receives payment prior to vehicle release
• Reviews warranty repairs for compliance with filing requirements
• Creates customized repair strategies to minimize customer downtime
• Invoices repair orders and maintains repair cycle time standards
• Contacts customers to schedule work and ask for business
• Fosters teamwork within the department and with other departments
• Strives to learn and develop skills for increased responsibilities
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Effective communication skills with all levels of business contacts
• Strong soft skills for engaging with customers
• Positive attitude and high energy level
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
