About the position

The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for customers at AgriVision Equipment Group, responsible for ensuring effective communication between customers and the service team. This role involves scheduling service, managing work orders, and assisting technicians to enhance service efficiency. The Service Advisor plays a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and operational excellence within the service department.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact for the Service Department.
  • Assist with technical requests from service technicians and customers.
  • Communicate with customers to schedule service and collect payment for services rendered.
  • Help service technicians improve overall labor performance by creating efficiency gains.
  • Open work orders and maintain control until closed and invoiced.
  • Schedule and assign jobs to employees according to their skills.
  • Review work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing.
  • Ensure all departmental tools and equipment are in good working order.
  • Work with technicians to accurately quote service work and sell needed repairs.
  • Submit all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required timeframe.
  • Develop and monitor effective Service Department processes for customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in coordinating customer clinics and promotional events.
  • Assist with staffing and employee development activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in Service Department operations required; management experience preferred.
  • Ability to promote and support company values and culture.
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles related to Service Department operations.
  • Excellent time management skills.
