About the position

As a Service Asset and Configuration Manager (SACM) at Uline, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for a growing North American company. This position is essential for ensuring that every component of our enterprise IT services fits seamlessly together. You will be responsible for owning and managing the CMDB, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date. Your role will involve driving best practices and optimizing procedures for updating Configuration Item (CI) data, which is crucial for the overall efficiency of our IT services. In this position, you will develop and communicate the SACM Roadmap, initiating projects to achieve strategic goals. You will establish and implement Configuration and Asset Management systems, standards, and policies that align with the company's objectives. Additionally, you will develop standards for the unique identification of object types, environments, processes, and more, ensuring that all aspects of asset management are covered comprehensively. You will also govern the process for creating and updating relationships in the CMDB, particularly for key IT and business solutions. Your responsibilities will include performing reporting capabilities to support audits, configuration status, lifecycle management, and more. This role requires a strategic thinker with clear decision-making skills, as you will be tasked with overseeing critical components of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and currency.
  • Drive best practices and optimize procedures for updating CI data.
  • Develop and communicate the SACM Roadmap and initiate projects to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Service Asset and Configuration Management processes.
  • Experience with ITSM products such as ServiceNow, Flexera One, HP Service Manager or BMC Atrium.
  • Strategic thinking and clear decision-making skills.
