About the position

As a Service Asset and Configuration Manager (SACM) at Uline, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for a growing North American company. This position is essential for maintaining the backbone of enterprise IT services, ensuring that every piece of the puzzle fits seamlessly together. You will be responsible for owning and managing the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and currency, and driving best practices to optimize procedures for updating Configuration Item (CI) data. In this role, you will develop and communicate the SACM Roadmap, initiating projects to achieve strategic goals. You will establish and implement Configuration and Asset Management systems, standards, and policies, while also developing standards for the unique identification of object types, environments, processes, and more. Governance of the process for creating and updating relationships in the CMDB, especially for key IT and business solutions, will be a critical part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will perform reporting capabilities to support audits, configuration status, lifecycle management, and more, ensuring that the organization maintains a high level of operational integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and currency.
  • Drive best practices and optimize procedures for updating CI data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Service Asset and Configuration Management processes.
  • Experience with ITSM products such as ServiceNow, Flexera One, HP Service Manager or BMC Atrium.
  • Strategic thinking and clear decision-making skills.
