About the position

The Busser, Runner, or Service Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth restaurant operations for both dine-in and takeout services. This position focuses on providing exceptional customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with food delivery and catering orders. Team members are expected to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests while efficiently managing their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Guiding guests through their experience while taking, placing, and reviewing orders for takeout and catering.
• Understanding the restaurant menu to identify different menu items for takeout and catering, and guiding guests in their choices.
• Reviewing orders with the guest at pick-up or delivery to ensure accuracy.
• Delivering an amazing hospitality experience by anticipating and exceeding guests' expectations.
• Clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing restaurant tables, bussing dishes to the kitchen dishwasher station, and resetting tables as needed.
• Removing bus tubs from the bar to the kitchen dishwasher station.
• Restocking, cleaning, and maintaining all restaurant stations.
• Understanding the restaurant seating layout and how to deliver food within the restaurant.
• Serving food or beverages for dine-in and takeout.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills and etiquette.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment, including coffee machines, iced tea machines, lemon slicers, and point of sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to execute proper sanitation practices and safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required.
