About the position

As an Assist Service Analyst at Keenan, an Accretive company, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Account Executive and Sales Executive with various internal procedures. This position involves limited field service responsibilities, focusing primarily on administrative tasks and client support. Keenan is an established insurance brokerage and consulting firm that caters to the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities, and California school districts. The firm specializes in consulting services across several domains, including employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial services, and property & liability insurance. In this role, you will assist with the installation of new cases and ensure that all administrative requirements for carriers are met. Your responsibilities will include proofreading booklets, Summary Benefits of Coverage, and master contracts, as well as preparing communication and enrollment materials. You will also assist in the preparation of ICM packets, JPA agendas, and minutes, attending meetings as necessary. Coordination of open enrollment meetings and health fairs will be part of your duties, along with resolving claim, billing, and eligibility issues. This will involve creating and tracking Activity Logs in BenefitPoint, maintaining the system for existing customers, and ensuring that all plans and rates are current and reviewed according to established data standards. You will work closely with the Account Executive and Service Analyst to process renewals and maintain the Renewal Status Report. Additionally, you will obtain premium and claim reports for experience-rated cases, maintain the G drive, and audit as assigned. Your role will also include distributing Quarterly Wellness Newsletters, Briefings, and bi-annual client reminders, as well as preparing required service reports and scheduling client appointments when necessary. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will interact with clients, carriers, and other Keenan staff. A willingness to develop full-service responsibility for assigned clients is expected, along with a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of proprietary information related to Keenan & Associates' clients and policies. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of new cases.
  • Complete administrative requirements for carrier.
  • Proof booklets, Summary Benefits of Coverage, and master contracts.
  • Prepare communication and other enrollment materials.
  • Assist with preparation of ICM packets and JPA agendas and minutes and attend if needed.

  • Resolve claim, billing, and eligibility issues, including creating and tracking Activity Logs in BenefitPoint.
  • Maintain BenefitPoint on existing customers ensuring all plans/rates are current/reviewed following the established data standards and rate versioning process.
  • Process renewals in conjunction with the Account Executive and Service Analyst and follow BenefitPoint procedures.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years' group insurance experience required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Outlook.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with math aptitude.
  • Flexible attitude and hours; ability to travel.
  • Life and Disability license preferred or must be willing to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education programs (preferably group-insurance related).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the insurance brokerage industry.
  • Familiarity with BenefitPoint software.
