The Service Deli Commissary/Cook position at Lee's Marketplace involves preparing and cooking high-quality dishes while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests. Responsibilities include cooking, guest service, product handling, cleanliness, cash handling, and teamwork, all aimed at contributing to the deli's success and reputation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in the development and planning of menus.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain accurate food inventories.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations.
- Greet and assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Provide knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries.
- Promote a high level of morale within department and store.
- Provide excellent guest service by acknowledging guests promptly and taking their orders accurately.
- Stock shelves and maintain displays according to store standards.
- Ensure product freshness by rotating stock and checking expiration dates.
- Assist in unloading deliveries and organizing stock rooms as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to stand, walk, twist, sit, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling small objects and operating equipment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
- Good verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in food service or guest service (preferred).
