About the position

The Service Desk Technician I is responsible for providing first-level support for service requests related to various technology components, including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and virtualization platforms. This role emphasizes timely and professional handling of technical issues, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction while working collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for technical issues involving core business applications and operating systems.
  • Offer basic technical support for network components, including WAN and LAN connectivity.
  • Implement and support VPN and remote access applications.
  • Monitor alerts and notifications from the remote monitoring and management system and respond via service tickets.
  • Maintain client system documentation and communicate incident progress to clients.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency regarding customer requests and maintain high customer service levels.
  • Work with the Service Desk Lead to route requests efficiently for resolution.
  • Escalate service requests requiring additional expertise to higher-level support.
  • Enter time and expenses in the PSA system as they occur.
  • Identify areas for improvement in client and service delivery.
  • Assist in client solution and service delivery team deployments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of IT or related experience, or actively pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Autotask.
  • Competent understanding of current Windows and Mac workstation operating systems.
  • Competent understanding of current Android and Apple mobile operating systems.
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Computer or network security certifications or courses taken into consideration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Apple, and Android operating system technologies.
