About the position

The Service Desk Technician position is a contract-to-hire role within a large gaming company, responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to local employees. The technician will assist users with issues related to the company's computer network and telephone systems, ensuring efficient resolution of problems and maintaining operational continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for local employees.
  • Take calls and enter issues into the helpdesk tracking system.
  • Attempt to solve problems on first contact; escalate to level-2 engineer if necessary.
  • Support desktops/laptops, operating systems, servers, applications, and remote access systems.
  • Reset user passwords and voicemail accounts.
  • Monitor server and application systems and respond to alerts as needed.
  • Set up new users on the network, determining access and establishing passwords.

Requirements

  • Experience in a service desk or technical support role.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle password resets and user account management.
  • Familiarity with desktop and laptop support, operating systems, and applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a gaming or technology environment.
  • Knowledge of helpdesk tracking systems.
