About the position

The Service Desk Technician serves as the first point of IT contact for technology users for the Fuerst Group family of companies. This position works directly with users and IT department peers to resolve incidents and requests through a combination of direct desk side support, remote connection, email, and telephone communication. Additional responsibilities include user account administration, technology procurement and provisioning, managing mobile devices, assisting with project initiatives, and supporting technology needs during corporate events.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, triage, research, and resolve all computing incidents and requests relating to personal computers (PC & Mac), communication devices, printers, peripherals, and presentation (AV) equipment.
  • Deploys and maintains user computer equipment. Manages system maintenance automation tools. Keeps user computer equipment, hardware, and software updated.
  • Provisions user accounts and manages access to network resources (Active Directory), software and web-based tools.
  • Monitors support desk queue. Investigates work requests if more information is needed.
  • Maintains technical troubleshooting and end-user reference documentation.
  • Provides hands-on technical demonstrations and coaching. Trains users on computer equipment and software.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training, preferably in a fast-paced support desk role.
  • Experience performing PC hardware installation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Apple Operating Systems, mobile operating systems, Microsoft Office 365 and related products.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and basic networking, and Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Occasional domestic or international travel required.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA A+ or Network + or Security + certificate is a plus.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed by the organization.
