Service Dispatcher

About the position

The Service Dispatcher at PowerVac of Michigan is responsible for efficiently scheduling and dispatching service personnel to customer locations. This role ensures optimal resource utilization and maintains effective communication between customers and field staff to guarantee timely service delivery. The dispatcher plays a crucial role in managing service requests, monitoring technician progress, and maintaining accurate records to enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Receive service requests and prioritize based on urgency and availability.
• Assign service calls to technicians, considering their skills and location.
• Monitor the progress of dispatched personnel to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers and field staff.
• Provide updates to customers regarding service status and estimated arrival times.
• Relay any issues or changes to technicians promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of service requests, technician assignments, and customer interactions.
• Utilize dispatch software to track job progress and manage scheduling.
• Address any challenges or emergencies that arise during service delivery.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
• 3+ years dispatch experience (Plumbing, Electrical, or HVAC experience preferred).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a customer service/dispatch role.
• Knowledge of the service industry (e.g., Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC).
• Familiarity with GPS and Routing Software.
