About the position

The Service Engineer - Electrical at Liebherr Automation Systems is responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of Liebherr automation systems, including gantries, robots, and ancillary equipment. This role involves extensive customer service, preventive maintenance, and training, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely. The position requires significant travel, both domestically and internationally, to meet customer needs and support project management.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of Liebherr automation systems, following documented protocols and obtaining customer sign-offs.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing controls, electrical, mechanical, lubrication, and pneumatic systems to repair automation and ancillary equipment.
  • Providing preventive maintenance to existing customers by completing all tasks on the preventive maintenance task list.
  • Delivering training to customers, including both classroom and hands-on training based on training manuals.
  • Tracking delays in installations and communicating progress and open issues with customers and Liebherr project managers.
  • Reporting hours and expenses as directed by Liebherr procedures in the required timeframe.
  • Completing scheduled training requirements and complying with all safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, and pneumatic fields.
  • Ability to read and follow industrial electrical prints.
  • Some experience with industrial controls PLC, NC, and HMI preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel, both individually and in a team environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Computer skills to use company resources, including MS Office and Intranet databases.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures and work in close quarters for installation and repair work.
  • Highly safety conscious.
