About the position
The Field Service Engineer position involves providing maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools, primarily through on-site visits and telephone support. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and product reliability, as it requires building strong relationships with clients while working closely with an in-house tech team for support. The position offers a long-term opportunity for growth within a stable and reputable company in the CNC manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools on-site or by telephone.
- Create and update documentation of technical information.
- Assist and train end customer's Service Engineers on installing and maintaining newer product lines.
- Establish and build exemplary communication and customer service relationships with customers.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools.
- Associate degree or bachelor's in a technical field, trade schools, or certificates in relevant areas.
- Experience with programming and operating CNC machines with 3, 5, or 7 axes.
- Ability to troubleshoot input/output signals utilizing machine ladder logic.
- Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and troubleshoot PLC ladder diagrams.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with robotics such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Haas, or Mori Seiki.
- Experience with control platforms like Siemens, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, or Heidenhain.
- Knowledge of spindle changes and head stock alignment.
