We are looking for a Technical Trainer specializing in semiconductor automation equipment to play a pivotal role in enhancing the technical proficiency of both internal staff and customers. This position involves delivering internal and customer-facing Instructor-Led Training (ILT) classes, assessing students through hands-on activities, and participating in the development of blended training programs. You will also be responsible for creating training materials and ensuring continuous improvement in training content and processes. Collaboration with various departments to align training initiatives with organizational goals and drive customer satisfaction is essential. As a Technical Trainer, you will conduct technical training sessions for internal staff and customers either on-site or at a Brooks Training Center. You will develop and implement training programs to elevate Customer Support Engineers (CSEs) to advanced levels of knowledge and lead the ILT program for select Brooks equipment curricula. Additionally, you will maintain training records through the Learning Management System (LMS), track attendance, progress, and completion of courses, and provide weekly status reports to the Global Training Director. Your role will also involve collaborating with the Curriculum Development team to design blended training programs based on research and organizational requirements, as well as assessing technical staff to identify skill gaps and development opportunities. You will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, gather feedback from participants, and implement improvements as needed. Your efforts will positively influence customer loyalty and satisfaction by supporting regional teams in delivering targeted training and preparing and delivering training for customers to enhance their understanding and utilization of semiconductor equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical training sessions for internal staff and customers either on-site or at a Brooks Training Center.
  • Develop and implement training programs to elevate Customer Support Engineers (CSEs) to advanced levels of knowledge.
  • Lead the ILT program for select Brooks equipment curricula, incorporating new findings and maintaining regular updates as needed.
  • Lead training participants through the Learning Management System (LMS), tracking attendance, progress, and completion of courses.
  • Maintain and share data on completed courses, absences, and issues via the LMS.
  • Provide weekly status reports to the Global Training Director to ensure clarity and sustainability of training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Development team to design blended (online + in-person) training programs based on research and organizational requirements.
  • Participate in the development of course curricula, syllabi, training plans, agendas, and course content in alignment with defined objectives and our Tiered Certification strategy.
  • Prepare training materials (e.g. job aids, guides, reference sheets, presentations) to support ILT programs delivered by you and other technical trainers.
  • Develop technical training documentation to support learning objectives.
  • Assess technical staff to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with managers to create personalized development plans for employees.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, gathering feedback from participants.
  • Determine overall program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with Service, Support, and Engineering departments to continuously improve training content and processes.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Training Manager towards the improvement of Brooks equipment and processes.
  • Prepare and deliver training for customers to enhance their understanding and utilization of semiconductor equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field - or related experience.
  • Proven experience in hands-on technical training involving mechanical and electrical equipment alongside software.
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) and/or E-Learning content creation tools.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
  • Innovative mentality with a focus on aligning training initiatives with organizational goals to drive business results.
