About the position
The Service Fitter is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of gas distribution systems. This role involves responding to emergencies, handling customer complaints, and performing scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently, with a commitment to customer service and safety.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain gas distribution systems.
- Respond to emergencies and customer complaints.
- Perform installation and maintenance of gas utility facilities such as service lines, risers, and meters.
- Promote all products and services sold by the Company.
- Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education with vocational training in gas utility or equivalent work experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Possession or ability to acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver's license appropriate for the position.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Nice-to-haves
- Qualified Service Technician with knowledge of electronic diagnostic processes.
- Strong background in gas utility installation and maintenance.
- Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
