About the position

The Service Line Sales Manager for Software & Platform Engineering at Cognizant is responsible for driving business development and sales within the Software & Platform Engineering domain. This role involves balancing client responsibilities with identifying and closing new business opportunities, collaborating with a leadership team, and developing strategies to penetrate accounts further. The position requires a mix of strategic and tactical management experience, focusing on building strong client relationships and achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Service Line Sales executives and champion Cognizant's Custom application offerings in the market.
  • Collaborate across multiple practices and offerings in Legacy Modernization, data, and Cloud platforms.
  • Work closely with Client Partners to develop and execute client strategy and transformation roadmap.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and own lead generation, pipeline management, proposal development, and overall solution.
  • Execute and manage the account plan within function/specialism in collaboration with the Markets team.
  • Engage with CXO, VP, and Director level clients for Client Relationship Management.
  • Respond to client requests and deliver on RFPs.
  • Lead pursuits as a pursuit owner to close new and expansion opportunities related to their sales specialisms.
  • Engage relevant internal Cognizant practices teams for developing solutions.
  • Create and present account Pipeline, QBR presentations, and executive status reports.
  • Develop opportunity pipelines, qualifying high priority deals, and winning new business in line with agreed targets.
  • Close sales with a specific emphasis on growing sales and winning new deals in customer accounts.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities such as conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and ownership with diverse teams.
  • Work collaboratively in a virtual and highly matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • Consistent record of growing a business successfully through strong client relationships.
  • Strong digital, Cloud, and Application Modernization sales background.
  • Ability to engage COO-level executives in large deal discussions.
  • Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of telecommunication solutions and business functionality.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with diverse teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in senior-level application services sales with a strong track record in selling digital/cloud solutions.
  • Experience in Software Product Engineering approaches and agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of large-scale Enterprise Application modernization and migration using Microservices architecture and cloud native solutions with DevOps.
  • Strong domain experience in Digital Experience, Digital Engineering, or Enterprise application modernization.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or MBA degree preferred.
  • Strong background in a project environment and application development.
  • Certifications in Cloud (AWS or Azure) preferred.
  • Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex assignments.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving abilities with strategic solutions.
