About the position

The Service Line Sales Manager for Software & Platform Engineering at Cognizant is responsible for driving sales and business development within the Software & Platform Engineering domain. This role involves balancing client responsibilities with sales activities, including identifying and closing new business opportunities. The manager will lead a team of sales executives, collaborate with client partners, and develop strategies to penetrate accounts and cross-sell services. The position requires strong leadership, client relationship management, and expertise in digital transformation and cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Service Line Sales executives and champion Cognizant's Custom application offerings in the market.
  • Collaborate across multiple practices and offerings in Legacy Modernization, data, and Cloud platforms.
  • Work closely with Client Partners to develop and execute client strategy and transformation roadmap.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and own lead generation, pipeline management, proposal development, and overall solution execution.
  • Manage the account plan within function/specialism in collaboration with the Markets team.
  • Engage with CXO, VP, and Director level clients for client relationship management.
  • Respond to client requests and deliver on RFPs.
  • Lead pursuits as a pursuit owner to close new and expansion opportunities related to sales specialisms.
  • Engage internal Cognizant practices teams for developing solutions.
  • Create and present account Pipeline, QBR presentations, and executive status reports.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior-level application services seller with a strong track record in selling digital/cloud solutions.
  • Consistent record of growing a business through strong client relationships.
  • Strong digital/Cloud/App Modernization sales background.
  • Ability to engage COO-level executives in large deal discussions.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with diverse teams.
  • Experience in large-scale Enterprise Application modernization and migration using Micro-services architecture and cloud native solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or MBA degree preferred.
  • Certifications in Cloud (AWS or Azure) preferred.
  • Strong background in a project environment and application development.
