The Service Manager at Tracy CDJR is responsible for running an efficient and profitable service department. This role involves managing staff, ensuring customer retention, controlling costs, and maintaining service records. The Service Manager will forecast departmental goals, hire and train staff, and ensure compliance with regulations while promoting a positive work environment and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Runs an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing and customer retention.
• Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
• Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all service department staff.
• Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the service department.
• Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the factory.
• Monitors and controls the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys.
• Develops and implements a marketing plan which promotes new and repeat business.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations.
• Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing and all are processed correctly.
• Holds weekly department meetings and directs the activities of all department employees.
• Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed.
• Monitors technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
• Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.

Requirements

• Technical automotive knowledge
• Previous Service Manager experience is a huge plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage others
• Organized and friendly personality
• Dealership experience preferred
• Willing to submit to a background check prior to employment
