About the position

The Service Manager is responsible for leading and developing the service team to deliver exceptional customer service in a market-leading agriculture equipment dealership. This role requires strong mechanical and technical skills, an understanding of financial objectives, and the motivation to handle administrative tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Service Department staff to develop and sustain high employee performance and morale.
  • Align and implement company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule service work according to priority and maintain a consistent workflow.
  • Advise customers on necessary repair services and preventative maintenance.
  • Create strategies to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly according to company guidelines.
  • Analyze market demand to ensure workflow availability.
  • Maintain dealer standards for vehicles, facilities, tooling, and training.
  • Evaluate and recondition trade-in equipment promptly.
  • Process warranty claims according to policy.
  • Complete PIP and campaign according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain service tools and vehicles in good condition.
  • Ensure a safe facility, equipment, and operations.
  • Maintain service vehicles and drivers in compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure repairs meet dealer standards.
  • Accountable for time record accuracy within the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required; bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Five years of service/mechanical experience with farm, heavy equipment, or diesel engines.
  • Successful experience in leading a team is required.
  • Proven track record in customer service and communications required.
  • Ability to use desktop or laptop computer, including Microsoft Office Suites.
