We are seeking a Roofing Service Manager to lead our service department in a fast-paced and high-energy construction roofing company. This position is crucial as it will be the first in this established location, and the selected candidate will work closely with the production team to build out the department. The ideal candidate will embody a work hard/play hard mentality, contributing to the growth and success of the company while fostering a positive work environment. As the Roofing Service Manager, you will be responsible for enhancing work measurements and performance standards within the service department. You will compile operating reports that include time, attendance, terminations, hires, transfers, budgets, and performance data. Staying informed on design requirements, codes, and materials is essential for accurate proposal and contract preparation. You will ensure that service vehicles, equipment, and employees maintain a professional appearance, and you will report significant issues and sales opportunities to supervisors. Daily meetings with repair technicians will be a key part of your role, allowing you to review activities and keep up-to-date with roofing developments and technologies. Collaboration with supervisors and estimators will be necessary to manage service and maintenance crews effectively. You will also work with production superintendents on policy development and training initiatives, supervise employees to maximize performance, and conduct wage and job performance reviews. Monthly meetings with project managers and field workers will help maintain alignment and communication across teams. Your responsibilities will also include identifying and providing necessary training for repair technicians, recruiting, training, and retaining a skilled maintenance workforce, and instructing best practices for roofing service, inspection, and maintenance. Compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations is paramount, and you will be responsible for identifying safety needs and submitting accident and injury reports. Maintaining customer relationships and satisfaction will be a priority, as will scheduling and coordinating service work, preparing cost estimates and proposals, overseeing projects, and managing department workflow. You will handle department finances, including budgets and project invoicing, review jobs, time tickets, and material invoices, and manage billing and collections processes. Analyzing budget reports, preparing modifications, and monitoring accounts receivables will also fall under your purview.
