About the position
The ServiceNow Architect position at ALTA IT Services, LLC involves supporting the Department of Defense's collaborative information environment for intelligence sharing. The role focuses on enhancing operational effectiveness and visibility through the implementation of ServiceNow capabilities, including IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, and more. The ideal candidate will be part of a digital transformation initiative aimed at improving IT asset management and driving cost savings while ensuring compliance with national security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the strategic development of new platform development based on customer needs.
- Performs management and configuration of ServiceNow applications and modules, product development, service automation, and system integration.
- Lead or mentor junior developers on an agile, ServiceNow implementation team.
- Actively collaborates with teammates to perform code reviews and discuss new developments and projects.
- Participate in all SCRUM ceremonies and discussions with team members and stakeholders.
- Aids with reporting configuration and maintenance and performs operational administrative tasks as needed.
- Assesses architecture and current system limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes for hardware/software compatibility.
- Plans and manages meetings to solicit feedback from stakeholders regarding various models of the tool.
- Acts as a liaison between parties to get support from ServiceNow when local issues arise or technical difficulties are identified.
- Builds customized ServiceNow applications and enhances team capabilities, security, and ROI.
- Provides and develops subject matter expertise on ServiceNow development and modules as required.
- Participates in internal and customer meetings to understand requirements and implement IT solutions.
- Performs full-spectrum of software development lifecycle (SDLC), including systems modeling, simulation, analysis, testing, and debugging.
- Maintains all agreed upon professional and technical certifications.
Requirements
- 20+ years of technical experience required.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Working experience with MariaDB and/or MySQL.
- Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire.
- Must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ServiceNow development, including core ITSM tables, Glide, scripting, business rules, client scripts, data imports, custom apps, and development methods.
- Experience with Web development, including X-HTML, CSS3, SQL, XML, or Angular and at least one of the following back-end technologies: JavaScript, PHP, .NET, Java, or ColdFusion.
- Experience with ServiceNow ITOM Discovery implementation.
- Experience with ServiceNow SERVICE PORTAL design and end-user/customer experience.
- ITILv4 Foundations certification.
- Experience with Agile development methodology, requirements management, JIRA (or similar RTM platforms).
