About the position

Our client is currently seeking a SERVICE NOW - CMDB Analyst. The resource will interface with business users and application owners, requiring strong communication, writing, analytical, and documentation skills. As we are improving our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) operations, we have a backlog of assets that need to be verified and documented within the CMDB, as well as improvement tasks to enhance our CMDB capabilities. Once we address the backlog, we will no longer require this role. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the management and maintenance of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. The analyst will work closely with the CMDB Process Owner, CMDB Support team, CI Class Owners, and IT teams to ensure that configuration items (CIs) are accurately recorded and maintained, enabling effective IT service management (ITSM) processes. Key responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day operations of the CMDB, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness, as well as identifying, documenting, and maintaining Configuration Items (CIs) within the ServiceNow CMDB. The analyst will perform regular audits and data quality checks to ensure that the CMDB is up-to-date and accurately reflects the IT environment. Collaboration with IT teams, CI Class Owners, and application support teams is essential to ensure that CIs are properly tracked and managed. Additionally, the analyst will maintain and update CMDB-related documentation, including processes, procedures, and work instructions, and generate CMDB reports and metrics to support IT management and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support CMDB Operations: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the CMDB, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
  • CI Management: Assist in the identification, documentation, and maintenance of Configuration Items (CIs) within the ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Perform regular audits and data quality checks to ensure that the CMDB is up-to-date and accurately reflects the IT environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, CI Class Owners, infrastructure, and application support teams, to ensure that CIs are properly tracked and managed.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update CMDB-related documentation, including processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Reporting: Generate CMDB reports and metrics to support IT management and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Entry-level experience with Configuration Management Database
  • Entry-level experience with ServiceNow
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
