About the position

As a ServiceNow Principal Technical Architect at Anywhere Real Estate, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions, leveraging your extensive experience in ServiceNow ITSM Pro, IRM Std, SAM Pro, ITBM, and ITOM. You will lead engineering processes, oversee development functions, and ensure adherence to best practices while fostering a collaborative environment for technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop technical roadmaps to align with strategic business objectives.
  • Lead and engage in critical engineering processes, including solution design and code reviews.
  • Help direct and oversee the development engineering functions within the team.
  • Contribute code as an active member of the team and establish oneself as the authoritative expert for the entire code lifecycle.
  • Proactively anticipate technical and data issues, ensuring technical debt is managed and reduced effectively.
  • Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and convert requirements into well-defined technical specifications and actionable designs.
  • Assume diverse roles ranging from prototyping and technical support during proposal stages to overseeing full-scale implementation projects.
  • Drive rapid value creation by identifying the most efficient paths for iterative delivery and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and optimize development efficiency, operational effectiveness, code quality, and overall value delivery.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of a platform operating model that improves the likelihood of successful go-lives and end-user adoption.
  • Engage in governance activities to enforce best practices and standards across development processes.
  • Lead technical governance processes and participate in the ServiceNow Steering Committee.
  • Lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Communicate essential information to facilitate effective planning and execution of development engineering tasks in agile sprints.
  • Help oversee the training and development of engineers, coordinating with immediate manager to align efforts.
  • Implement strategies to ensure knowledge retention within the team through comprehensive documentation, commentary, and equitable work distribution.
  • Ensure cohesive alignment with enterprise-wide architecture, agile methodologies, security protocols, product development, legal/compliance considerations, engineering quality assurance, and other relevant groups.
  • Promote a culture of transparency and collaboration, facilitating cross-functional knowledge sharing and problem-solving.
  • Resolve technical issues, validate assumptions, and verify approaches to maintain operational continuity.

Requirements

  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of industry experience as a ServiceNow developer or architect.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities and customization options.
  • Proficiency in end-to-end software development life cycle and successful delivery of technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in leading solution reviews and leading technical governance boards.
