About the position

The ServiceNow Senior Developer at OpTech is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role involves collaborating with business analysts and process owners to understand functional requirements, creating technical designs, and ensuring quality standards are met through code reviews and testing. The developer will also support production systems, resolve issues, and maintain documentation while promoting teamwork and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Analysts/Process Owners/Requesters to understand functional requirements and develop technical designs and solutions.
  • Analyze requirements, design, develop prototypes, and fine-tune applications with stakeholders.
  • Participate in peer/code/design reviews to ensure quality standards and requirements are met.
  • Design, code, test, and implement moderately complex programs.
  • Develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards.
  • Create test scenarios and develop test plans for business applications to verify client requirements.
  • Enhance existing systems and participate in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews.
  • Support production systems by resolving problems and optimizing performance.
  • Participate in inspections to verify that the intent of change is carried out throughout the project.
  • Provide support and escalation response to production problem issues/errors.
  • Perform root cause analysis and application resolution.
  • Provide on-call second-level escalation response for client issues and application tickets.
  • Ensure proper documentation and on-time delivery of all technical artifacts and deliverables.
  • Stay updated on new tools, technology, and functionalities across the application.
  • Promote teamwork and lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Initiate a personal training plan and pursue understanding of the organization's business plans and strategies.
  • Maintain the highest standards of honesty and integrity, ensuring confidentiality of information.
  • Provide general support, administration, and maintenance for the ServiceNow platform.
  • Create custom applications, record producers, catalog items, reports, and dashboards.
  • Monitor health, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications.
  • Coordinate application and platform upgrades.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience in an ITIL/ITSM work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • At least three years of experience in a Health Care environment and familiarity with HIPAA.
  • At least four years of application/system development/programming experience, with at least three years of ServiceNow development.
  • BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
  • Certified Application Specialist certification required.
  • HIPAA certification required.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application certification required.
