The Service Design Tools & Infrastructure team plays a crucial role in this mission by providing exceptional service design and innovative technology solutions to enhance our Centralized Managed Support Operations (CMSO). As a ServiceNow Solutions Architect, you will serve as a subject matter expert in ServiceNow and ITIL, translating user requirements into technical solutions that align with customer expectations. You will lead the delivery of ServiceNow implementation projects and drive strategic transformation changes in ITIL solution deployment. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the architecture, design, implementation, and enhancement of existing ServiceNow ITSM applications, as well as developing new applications on the ServiceNow platform. You will ensure that the solutions delivered to business units adhere to enterprise architecture and infrastructure standards. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for success in this role, as you will need to listen, interpret, strategize, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise and act as a technical product advocate for ServiceNow and ITIL processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement ITIL processes and technology-specific best practices and standards.
  • Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending the most efficient and cost-effective options.
  • Propose data models and design changes to processes and products, exercising significant latitude in determining assignment objectives.
  • Translate user requirements into functional and technical requirements, developing technical design documents.
  • Design and develop extensions to the ServiceNow data model in support of requirements towards CMDB and other modules.
  • Review and refine designs for usability, ensuring application quality through testing scenarios and user reviews.
  • Support and coordinate the scheduling and execution of releases, product upgrades, and new technology deployments.
  • Evaluate new features, producing comprehensive analyses and recommendations, and participate in product roadmap planning.
  • Produce and maintain detailed system documentation, including design specs, maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, disaster recovery, tech notes, and testing documentation.
  • Create and maintain the current state of the ServiceNow platform architecture documentation, providing architectural control.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of ServiceNow experience and a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
  • Experience with full lifecycle ServiceNow implementations.
  • Understanding of key technologies relevant to ServiceNow integration solutions, including SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.
  • Experience with scripting in the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, Jelly, and/or AngularJS, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Widgets, etc.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum/Kanban, DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Deployment/Delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodologies and processes.
  • ServiceNow Administration experience.
  • Hands-on design, development, and deployment experience with the ServiceNow platform.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Deployment practices.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks related to ServiceNow.
