About the position

The Service Operations Director is a key leadership role within an automotive dealership, responsible for overseeing the service department's operations. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, team management, and operational efficiency, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and departmental performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the automotive industry, particularly in service operations, and will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment while managing a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in servicing, repairing, and explaining each service needed.
• Understand customers' requirements and concerns; match requirements and concerns to various service options.
• Make the customer comfortable with the service being performed and keep the customer informed and updated throughout the service of their vehicle.
• Stay updated on new products, features, accessories, and attend product training as required.
• Maintain a service customer follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
• Hire and supervise all service department personnel, as well as monitor their performance in servicing customers.
• Create goals and objectives for the department, which include an annual operating budget and a marketing plan to promote new business.
• Maintain a high Customer Service Index (CSI) rating by handling customer complaints immediately and appropriately.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in an automotive dealership in a comparable customer-focused position.
• 3 years of experience in automotive service.
• 3 years of management experience.
• 3 years of customer service experience.
• A clean driving record.
