About the position

The Assistant Service Plaza Manager will oversee operations at the Commodore Perry and Erie Islands Service Plazas, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction. This part-time role involves supervising staff, maintaining service plaza standards, and assisting patrons with inquiries and issues. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, and involves physical activity such as standing for long periods and lifting items.

Responsibilities

• Inspect service plaza for cleanliness and maintenance.
• Navigate the perimeter of the service plaza to ensure grounds are well maintained.
• Assist in price surveys on plaza operators.
• Collect and document lost and found items.
• Work with Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) and OTIC Maintenance Department on related issues.
• Maintain building repair log and report deficiencies.
• Report all accidents and injuries and complete required reports.
• Assist patrons with directions, questions, problems, and complaints.
• Maintain literature in the information center.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Service Plaza Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License with auto insurance.
• Proficiency in computer and computer software.
• Experience in public relations and conflict resolution.
• Good communication skills.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with no continuous supervision.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of customer service experience (preferred).
• 2 years of management experience (preferred).
• Ability to relocate to Clyde, OH 43410 before starting work (preferred).
