About the position

The position involves designing, deploying, and implementing Cisco IOS XR with a focus on network control, management, and security protocols. The role requires extensive experience in network engineering, particularly in WAN/LAN technologies, and emphasizes strong communication and problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and implement Cisco IOS XR.
• Create logical design models for network architecture.
• Manage network control protocols including QOS, PfR, PoE, NTP, and DHCP.
• Utilize network management protocols such as CDP, FTP, TFTP, and SNMP.
• Implement security protocols including SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, and TrustSec.
• Conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
• Prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in network engineering with Cisco IOS XR.
• Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of IP communication and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
• Experience with WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet, DMVPN, WAAS, MPLS).
• Working technical knowledge of network control, management, and security protocols.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating logical design models.
• Experience with inter-company routing.
• Security implementation and migration experience.
• Configuration management using automation tools (APIC-EM, Cisco Prime) and API scripting with Python.
• Knowledge of various Security OEM technologies.
• Certifications in Cisco, AWS, and ITIL.
